Contentnea Volunteer Fire Department has been providing emergency services to rural Wilson County since its inception in December of 1975.
Contentnea Volunteer Fire Department is committed more than ever to raise the standard. Contentnea VFD looks forward to great things happening in the future.

OUR MISSION
The mission of the Contentnea Fire Department is to enhance the quality of life for our community residents, visitors and individuals traveling within our district. Our commitment to minimize the loss of life and property resulting from fire, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents and other disasters shall be accomplished by providing professional emergency and non-emergency services through fire prevention, education, fire suppression, medical services and community involvement.
OUR VISION
We are cautiously yet confidently moving forward, adjusting to the new norm while shaping a new future and future possibilities. Our foundation is sustainability - living within our means while having a simultaneous, proactive approach in shaping new realities. We must be very firm and clear in an uncertain world that there is a certain future, one that we design. We are not 'surviving,' nor hunkering down, nor waiting to see what the future brings. We are neither wishing nor hoping for something good to occur - we are
making it happen.
